Culture and history info
Rehova is another village in southeastern Albania with a rich history and culture, also known as the village that was discovered by tourists.
The architecture leaves you speechless. All the houses are built of stone, with stoned walls and they stand side by side. There is a cobblestoned street that you can visit, named “The Street of Gates” that is a cultural destination. An attraction that fanatically preserves the traces of the centuries-old tradition of Rehova. The gates were carefully built by the Rehovars from the 20th century and still retain their historical values. The village firmly belongs to the Orthodox faith and religious cults are the place where every resident starts their Sunday. There are 23 large and small churches that serve for the residents as medicinal plants for any illness, since for any problem or desire they know which church they should turn to for prayer.Among them the most prominent are: the Church of Saint Kolli , the church of Saint George and the church of Saint Peter. This village is also known for its tradition of hospitality and rich traditional cuisine. We call it the village where locals sit at the table together with the visitors, to have lunch or dinner.
This village still has other attractions to offer tourists, such as: Cataract waterfalls above the village and a lot of Orthodox churches. Hiking, cycling and skiing are also available in this area.
