NAME: In antiquity this area was known as Trifilia , according to the legend, the city got its name from the ancient hero named Premt.

Përmet is a city in the southeast of Albania. The characteristic of the city is the growth of roses in flower gardens and the yards of old houses, so Përmet is otherwise known as the City of Roses.

Përmet is known throughout Albania for its hospitality and excellent cuisine, particularly the many different types of jam and kompot, and the production of local wine and raki.

There is a religious tolerance and it is worth seeing the 12th century church of St. Mary in Kosina and the 18th century church in Leusa. There are 15 other churches and 4 mosques nearby.
