Culture and history info
Llogara National Park is part of Riviera, strategically located within the Ceraunian Mountains, southeast of Orikum. Geologically, like most of the mountains in the region, Llogara is made up of carbonic and flysch deposits from the Mesozoic and Paleozoic period. Llogara belongs to one of the most significant areas of the country, specifically due to climatic conditions and on the other hand due to the topography of this area. Its unforgettable landscapes, along the Riviera, between sea and mountains will make your trip unforgettable.
You will be surrounded by regal forests that remain magically cool even during the scalding heat of the summer. Moreover, the park is heavily forested, mainly with pine, oak and fir trees growing on limestone and dolomite. Among them, is the so-called Flag Pine (Pisha Flamur), a century-old tree, bent from the winds into the shape of a flag.
Llogara Park is habitat to many birds, deer, wild cats, foxes and more. It is also home to air sports, hosting annual international competitions of paragliding, as well as mountain biking and hiking.
