Lin and Tushemisht

We will head towards the Ohrid Lake, on the border with Macedonia. This lake is considered as World Heritage by UNESCO.

Firstly, we will join the picturesque village of Lin. A fishing village at the foot of a hill on a peninsula. By going down the village you can enjoy the view on the lake.

We will then carry on to Tushemisht.

A small village on the shores of Lake Ohrid, this place served as a natural setting for the filming of some of the greatest movies of our country. The decor is so rich and varied that UNESCO has added this lake (one of the oldest in the world) to the World Heritage List in 1979 for its fauna and flora. The lake and mountains on the horizon offer you a breathtaking view !

LIN

The village of Lin is a small peninsula, located on the western shores of the lake Ohrid. This area has been inhabited since at least the Iron Age. Archaeological findings from the hilltop above the present-day village include foundation walls and mosaics of an early Christian Byzantine church, dating from the 6th century.

It is a picturesque village on an isthmus washed by the waters of the lake. This fishing village offers a chilling, relaxing, and charming atmosphere that inspires and rejuvenates visitors. With its simplicity, Lin lets nature speak first and awaits artists and tourists who seek new inspiring images and memories. The village is thus well-known for its handicrafts. Some handcrafts include carpet-making, embroidery of clothes, and other crochet works. Meanwhile, a predominant craft among the local men is wood engraving or xylography.

TUSHEMISHT

Tushemisht is a village situated right on Lake Ohrid in Korça County and is filled with miniature concrete canals and blueish-green beaches. Tushemisht consisted of a few restaurants and bars located on the water, a few cafes inside the city, cobblestone and marbled narrow streets, spectacular churches and monasteries.In this village was shot an Albanian film and there is a statue in honor of the main character, “Ollga”, very famous for Albanian people.
