Have you ever heard of Gramozi Mountain ?!
The northern end of the Pindit mountain range is exactly the Gramoz mountain, which simultaneously unites and separates the southeast of Albania with the north of Greece. On the edge of the mountain stands a village with about 460 residents, with a special history, culture and architecture.
Rehova village recently very popular, has discovered from tourists by chance. A group of tourists found themselves in this village and knocked on the door of a family first to get information about where they could stay to sleep or consume something. Koço Thimollari, a man in his sixties, without knowledge in tourism, but raised with the tradition of hospitality, invites visitors to spend the night in their home and dine together. This area is known for traditional cooking and the housewives of the village stand out for their typical cuisine full of Mediterranean flavors.
Koco greatly appreciates his wife for her contribution and he has a famous quote about her : “Men think they are the head in the family, but in fact women are the neck that moves it!
Since 10 years, it has become a tradition in village and the ritual of shared tables with tourists and visitors, as well as returning their homes to guesthouses. These houses have preserved the architectural elements of stone and wood to offer comfort to tourists. Passionate people about architecture and culture can visit the cobblestoned “The gates path” and the stone-walled houses built side by side, as if they were dancing, at the entrance of each, there are stoic arched gates, skillfully built by the residents of the village, date since the beginning of the 20th century.
In addition to what we mentioned above, this village still has other attractions to offer tourists, such as: Cataract waterfalls above the village and a lot of Orthodox churches. Hiking, cycling and skiing are also available in this area, but we will talk about all of this in a more detailed article on our authentic blog!
